Joy Martin

Joy Martin recently completed an 11 year appointment with the Consent and Capacity Board, and has also held previous roles as Housing Manager for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Community Outreach Coordinator with Bridge Street Foundation, Caseworker for Children’s Aid, and Trustee with the Hastings County Board of Education.

Ms. Martin is committed to community involvement as demonstrated through ongoing volunteer work as a Disaster Responder with the Canadian Red Cross, and through previous positions as Chair of the Quinte United Way Allocations, Quinte Refugee Sponsorship Committee, and Quinte Collective Kitchens.

Ms. Martin studied Social Sciences at McMaster University and holds a Social Service Worker diploma from Sir Sanford Fleming College. She has also has completed specialized training in several areas such as psychological health and safety in the workplace, critical incident stress management, gambling addiction and intervention, accessibility, and humanitarian and disaster response.
