Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Campaign is Encouraging Local Residents to Quit Smoking

Hastings and Prince Edward Counties/October 23, 2018 - Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do to improve your life and health. You may smoke for many reasons, but there are even more reasons to quit. Reasons for quitting could include improving your health, relationships, finances, or any other personal goal you want to achieve.

Over the next eight weeks, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health will be running an education campaign that promotes the importance and benefits of quitting smoking.

"Research shows that it can take many attempts to quit smoking for good," says Shannon Del Grosso, Health Promoter and TEACH certified Quit Smoking Coach. "If you use commercial tobacco products, your quit date might be one of the most important dates of your life. We recognize how difficult quitting can be, and we encourage you to make quit attempts as often as possible".

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health offers quit smoking clinics throughout the community. No appointment is necessary to attend these "We Can Quit" Clinics. In addition, Nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges are available for only $5 a box.

Clinics are offered in:

  • Bancroft - Thursdays from 1 pm to 4 pm
  • Belleville - Wednesdays from 9 am to 1 pm
  • Picton - biweekly on Fridays from 9 am to 11:30 am
  • Trenton - Thursdays from 9 am to 11am
