Prenatal Education

Expectant parents and support persons are encouraged to start prenatal education as early as possible in their pregnancy. Our free Prenatal Education can be completed online, or a combination of online and in-person learning.


  • An e-learning program, InJoy eClasses.

    • Understanding Breastfeeding
    • Understanding Your Newborn Care
  • The InJoy eClasses are a free program that provides information and resources in web-based, mobile-friendly format. This is an interactive program with audio voiceover, closed captioning, videos, and quizzes to help you learn about pregnancy, labour and birth and caring for your newborn. 
  • InJoy eClasses are recommended for those expecting their first child, as well as those expecting another child for a refresher. 
  • Pregnant women and support persons need to complete the InJoy eClasses before taking the in-person sessions.
  • If you are unable to access a computer, tablet or mobile device, or do not have internet access, please call 613-966-5500 or 1-800-267-2803 x 223 or text 450-990-5551 so we can help you to make arrangements to access your InJoy eClasses
  • After activation, you will have access to your account for a period of 365 days.

  • Pregnant women and support persons need to complete the InJoy eClasses before taking the in-person sessions.
  • Two (2) in-person sessions:

1)    Breastfeeding - This session is a great way to connect with other expectant families and apply the knowledge you learned in the Breastfeeding eClass through hands on activities and discussion.

2)    Labour and Birth - This session will take you on a tour of the Belleville General Hospital Maternity Floor (Quinte 7) and provide you with a chance to ask a Public Health Nurse any questions that have come up during your eClasses.
