Pool and Spa Course

Each spring, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health offers a <free training course> covering the important elements of safe pool and spa operation. Learn how to prevent the spread of communicable disease, create a safer environment for patrons and staff, and avoid facility closures.

This course is intended primarily for pool and spa owners/operators and lifeguards.

What You Will Learn

The course provides information on such topics as legal responsibilities, infectious diseases, water chemistry and testing, recirculation systems, facility management, and grounds for facility closure.

As of Jan. 1, 2025 Hastings Prince Edward Public Health; Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health; and Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit merged to form Southeast Public Health (SEPH).
