Healthy Communities Policy and Capacity Building Initiative: A Contribution Analysis

Over a five year period (2012-2017), Hastings Prince Edward Public Health developed and implemented a comprehensive health promotion approach that aimed to address elements of the local built environment that have the potential to influence healthy eating and active living (HEAL) behaviours. This contribution analysis report assesses how these strategies contributed to the development of relevant programs and policies with the potential to create supportive environments for HEAL in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

As of Jan. 1, 2025 Hastings Prince Edward Public Health; Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health; and Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit merged to form Southeast Public Health (SEPH).

You will begin to see the new Southeast Public Health branding appear on our resources and advertising materials. You will continue to see some documents using the legal name South East Health Unit.
