Brockville – The South East Health Unit (SEHU) has completed the local investigation into an outbreak of Salmonellosis linked to individuals who ate at Rocky River Café in Perth Ontario, on or about July 15, 2025.
As part of the investigation, multiple follow-up inspections have been conducted at this food premise and SEHU is satisfied that there is no ongoing source of Salmonella infection related to this outbreak.
The operator of the Rocky River Café has been cooperative throughout the investigation and has done the required work to allow for the health unit’s closure order to be lifted.
This outbreak is currently associated with 7 laboratory-confirmed cases and 11 additional individuals who had symptoms of salmonella infection after eating at this food premises, but who did not have laboratory testing.
The outbreak is suspected to have been from cross-contamination of multiple food items due to improper food handling practices, and no specific food items have been linked in the course of the health unit’s investigation.
